Women Watch Afrika wishes you a Happy International Women’s Day!
Happy International Women’s Day! Today Women Watch Afrika honors women all over the world, acknowledges the continued struggle for equality and equity; and celebrates the achievements women have made locally, nationally, and globally. Women Watch Afrika especially uplifts immigrant, refugee, and asylee women, and uplifts women and children in conflict zones as they fight for their lives and for their democracy. The strength and resilience of women go beyond borders and inspires the world.
International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on the 8th of March. This day celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, while also highlighting the problems women face in the professional environment. Women deserve a seat at the table.
In celebrating International Women’s Day, Women Watch Afrika calls for the support of Women’s Rights and Women’s Reproductive Rights. Women’s Rights are Human Rights.
