Women Watch Afrika joins for a much-needed conversation that exposes harmful immigration enforcement practices and lays out a framework for building a safer, free future for all of us.

April 26, 2021 by Preye Cobham, Esq.

We Dream in Black (WeDiB) and NDWA are pleased to join Women Watch Afrika, the Miami Workers Center, Brazilian Workers Center, and others for a powerful and much-needed conversation that exposes harmful immigration enforcement practices and lays out a framework for building a safer, free future for all of us.

Glory Kilanko, Founder and CEO, Women Watch Afrika, Inc. states:
“For us the issue of immigration is key. The majority of domestic workers are Black women. When you look at caregivers, health care workers. The majority are Black women. We cannot overlook the contributions of Black women.  You won’t be surprised to hear that the previous administration deported refugees. Refugees that were brought to the US and had the right to remain.  We need to invest in our people who’ve been damaged by the immigration system. We need hospitals, community centers, rehabilitation centers for people who’ve been detained. Invest that money into our community.”#EyesOnICE
