The [Census] Data is In! Time for Transparency

August 12, 2021 by Preye Cobham, Esq.

🚨🚨The 2020 Census data has now been released, this means the redistricting season is starting here in the state of Georgia. The joint legislative redistricting committees repeatedly claimed that they could not reveal details of how and when the maps will be drawn or the timing of the redistricting special session because they did not have the data on hand. With the release of the Census data today, we expect the committees to step up and reveal the details now.

Join Women Watch Afrika, Inc. and its partners in demanding that the legislative redistricting committees have a fair and transparent redistricting process. This means providing transparency and making the timelines and guidelines for redistricting publicly available before the special session begins, and committing to allow the public to view and give comments on the actual maps.

Our voices, values, and communities matter! #DrawJusticeLines
