Breaking Down Senate Bill 202 (SB 202)

March 18, 2021 by Preye Cobham, Esq. Leave a Comment

Breakdown on SB 202: This is one of the worst anti-voting bill in Georgia currently

🚨🚨 The DISENFRANCHISEMENT Bill: SB202 that was dropped by surprise yesterday, that has several substitutes and is 94 pages still hasn’t been posted online in its entirety for people to be able to read and make comments on! This is NOT how to restore confidence in elections. This is NOT transparency!
Furthermore, Chairman Fleming REFUSES to agree to allow testimony on Monday March 22nd (essentially refusing to give people time to hopefully read the new version & make comments on it). Moreover, Fleming alludes that there may be vote on it on Monday❗️ This is NOT how we “restore confidence” in elections.
Say NO to all Voter Suppression Bills‼️
SB 202:
1. Makes ballot drop boxes almost inaccessible, adds NEW ID requirements, and criminalizing giving food, drinks (including water!), and even umbrellas, etc. to voters waiting in line.
2. SB 202 gives NEW POWER to controlling Political Party to take over local boards of elections: they are trying to take over county boards of elections to make it easier to refuse to certify elections in which they don’t like the results so that they can control how elections go.
